Use the canopy as a frame rather than fighting it — a clean gap in the foreground makes the bill pop.

Bird in the mist — the habitat frame
Pull back to 200mm when cloud rolls through. The fog does the background separation for you.

Night walk, diffused torch or a softened flash. Get to eye level with the frog, never above it.
